Geographical outline
 |
Kurumayama-highland is located on the middle of the Nagano-prefecture,
where Nagano Olympic winter game was held in 1998. Mt. Kurumayama is the
highest peak of Kirigamine mountain area. "Allez! Allez!" is located on the middle
of the mountain. The altitude at the point of "Allez! Allez!" is 1560m. So it has
cool climate, specific flora, and wide spread view. You can have a great
impression in any seasons of the year. |
Spring
Trekking to watch azalea
 |
Most part of Kirigamine mountain area is covered with meadow and shrub.
So you can see reddish purple color of azalea flower here and there on
the middle of June. Though most of this flower season is rainy season,
sometimes you can see fine and great landscape. It is moderate course to
walk Mt. Kurumayama and Yashimagahara swamp for one day trekking. Instead
of climbing on foot, two lifts are aveilable just up to the peak. |
Driving on Venus Line
 |
The toll road called "Venus Line" was constructed almost on the
ridge of gently-sloping mountain. So you can enjoy wide spread sight through
your car window. It's a 38km driving from "Allez! Allez!" to the other end of Venus
Line; Utsukushigahara.

Riding TREK road bikes with Shimano Dual Control Lever

Venus Line is also good for road cycling. There are many other good roads
to ride a bike.
You can ride a rental road bike of "Allez! Allez!".. It's built by TREK U.S.A., which the Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong rides. "Allez! Allez!" rental road bike is tuned for this mountainous area. Its chain wheel is much smaller than normal road bike.
Rental fee is 1,200 yen for 3 hours, 1,800 yen for one day.

Summer
Trekking to watch Nikko-Kisuge
 |
Like azalea surrounds the mountain in June, Nikko-kisuge surrounds it with
yellow flower in the middle of July. In this season, weather is much better
than in June. So you can see blue sky, green meadow, and yellow flower.
It's a incredible experience to walk around Mt. Kurumayama in this time
of year. |
Mt.Yatsugatake climbing

"Allez! Allez!" is also close to Mt.Yatsugatake. Mt.Yatsugatake is a great mass
of mountains. It is said that it would have been higher than Mt.Fuji, if
a great eruption did not blow away its top part of mountain long ago. There
are several beautifull ponds like left photograph because of the eruption.
A ropeway is also available up to the middle of Yokodake peak. Anyway,
this mountain is much steeper than Mt.Kurumayama. Therefore, be carefull
of your equipment. |
Paragliding
 |
There is a paraglider school near Kurumayama. Even for the one who try
it for the first time, it's possible to have a feeling of frying in the
air. The charge for this one day lesson is 8,500 yen.

Autumn
Riding TREK full suspension MTB
 |
There are some TREK full supension MTBs as well. Enjoy confortable riding
even on rough surfaced path. Off course there are many good path to ride
on around here.

French cars' meeting is held
 |
In the middle of November, annual event called "French Blue Meeting"
is held. To participate it, more than 2000 french car lovers meets here
in Kurumayama. They display their own cars and brag them each other. You
can find many rare cars. |
Winter
Alpine ski
 |
Just after only 5minutes bus riding from "Allez! Allez!", you can get to the Kurumayama
Highland Skiing Ground. This skiing ground is well known for its beautifull
360 degree sight from the peak, and wide spreaded course. Its scale is
largest among several skiing grounds around this area. |
XC skiing in prenty of gently sloping course

To enjoy cross-country skiing, both low air temperature and gently sloping
field are necessary. The area aroud "Allez! Allez!" is the one of rare places in
Japan to fill this condition. You can enjoy splendid tour in one of a lot
of courses. |
Winter trekking using snowshoes
 |
Just out of the door of "Allez! Allez!", you can start for winter trekking using
snowshoes. There is a round 2 or 3 hours' course from "Allez! Allez!".. You can
borrow rental snowshoes made by TSL company in France. |
